1. STATE WIDE EVENTS:   

STATEWIDE PARISH BURN BANS / DROUGHT 2011:

WebEOC Incident 010-11 Statewide Parish Burn Ban

 

State Fire Marshal H. “Butch” Browning and Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain lifted the statewide burn ban as of 11 November 2011.

 

Jefferson Davis Parish (expires 14 December 2011) has a parish wide declaration of a state of emergency due to the extreme drought situation.

2. LOUISIANA WEATHER:

SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA:  Today will be cloudy with a slight rain/drizzle throughout the day.  Wednesday will be cloudy during the day and mostly clear at night.  Thursday through Saturday will be sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night.

Temperatures:  Today: 51/36, Wednesday: 52/29, Thursday: 56/31, Friday: 59/32, Saturday: 57/33

HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  No hazardous weather is projected at this time.

 

SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA:  Today has a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain throughout the day.  Wednesday has a 40 percent chance of rain during the day becoming clear at night.  Thursday through Saturday will be sunny during the day and partly cloudy at night.

Temperatures:  Today: 55/40, Wednesday: 52/34, Thursday: 55/33, Friday: 58/38, Saturday: 56/34

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: A small craft advisory will go into effect tonight for the coastal waters due to strong cold air moving into the north Gulf producing strong wind gusts and seas greater than 7 feet.

 

A small craft advisory will be in effect for Wednesday before conditions improve Wednesday night into Thursday.

 

A light freeze is expected each night from Wednesday night through Saturday night mainly across southern Mississippi counties and the Florida parishes of southeast Louisiana.

 

CENTRAL LOUISIANA: Today will be cloudy with a chance of drizzle throughout the day.  Wednesday will be mostly cloudy during the day and mostly clear at night.  Thursday through Saturday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night. 

Temperatures:  Today: 46/34, Wednesday: 50/26, Thursday: 54/28, Friday: 57/28, Saturday: 55/30

HAZARDOUS WEATHER:  No hazardous weather is projected at this time.

 

NORTHERN LOUISIANA: Today has a 20 percent chance of rain during the day becoming mostly cloudy at night.  Wednesday through Saturday will be sunny during the day and mostly clear at night.

Temperatures:  Today: 45/32, Wednesday: 48/26, Thursday: 53/27, Friday: 55/29, Saturday: 53/29

HAZARDOUS WEATHER: No hazardous weather is projected at this time.
