Winter Weather Update
The Greater Lafourche Port Commission is monitoring the approaching winter weather. We have been in contact with the National Weather Service, State GOHSEP, and Parish EOC. Based on the National Weather Service information, the southern part of Lafourche Parish, including the South Lafourche Airport and Port Fourchon will not see any freezing precipitation. With that and a discussion with DOTD, no impact to the highways, including the elevated portion of LA 1 is expected. Please continue to monitor for information as this winter weather system impacts our area over the next couple of days. Again, based on the information we have, we do not expect major impacts to roadways in our immediate area, but be prepared as we know how weather impacts can change rapidly. Please drive carefully.
