GOHSEP SITREP#1 _ 25-016 Severe Weather Flooding – 6 May

—————————————————————————————————–

Update from Jay Grymes, State Climatologist
Tuesday 2 PM Update:
The SPC has expanded the severe weather threat for several western parishes, including the potential for one or more strong tornadoes (EF2 or greater).  The damaging wind threat has also been expanded for the same areas, with a lower-end severe weather threat extended eastward compared to the morning outlooks.
The flood threat remains a concern for Acadiana and portions of the Florida Parishes.  The heaviest rains will begin later tonight and extend through Wednesday morning before slowly subsiding.
Areas subject to standing water and flood concerns, as well as those impacted by flooding along South Louisiana rivers and bayous, should monitor developments over the next 24-48 hours.

State Climatologist
