LABEOC Update

April 8, 2025
LABEOC Network,

As you know, the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) is now under the leadership of the Louisiana National Guard.

During this transition, the Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center (LABEOC) remains steadfast in supporting the State of Louisiana, the business community, and our parish partners. While executive leadership at GOHSEP may evolve, our unwavering commitment to the essential principles of emergency management—prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery—remains stronger than ever. Together, we will continue to build a resilient future for our communities.

At the LABEOC, we wholeheartedly believe that robust partnerships are the cornerstone of a resilient Louisiana. Our commitment to enhancing collaboration between the public and private sectors has never been more crucial. Together, we can better nurture these vital relationships to help businesses and nonprofits in all stages of emergencies.

We are especially grateful for our partnership with the Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association (LEPA); their expertise and commitment significantly contribute to our joint mission of elevating training within the emergency management field. Let’s continue working hand in hand to build a safer, stronger community for everyone!

As we look ahead, the LABEOC commits to strengthening collaboration, advancing capabilities, and building upon the strong foundation established in coordination with GOHSEP, LEPA, and our local, state, and federal partners. These alliances ensure Louisiana’s businesses and communities are well-positioned to face current and future challenges.

This year’s conference is especially significant as we commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and reflect on the resilience, innovation, and progress that have shaped Louisiana’s emergency management over the past decade.

We encourage all public, private, and nonprofit stakeholders to attend this important gathering. Together, we will share lessons learned, strengthen partnerships, and continue strengthening Louisiana’s ability to respond to disasters and protect our people and economy.

We look forward to seeing you in Lake Charles and our continued collaboration in serving the great state of Louisiana.
