The Port Commission is keeping an eye on the development of Hurricane Rafael, which is forecast to weaken as it approaches the central Gulf of Mexico later this week.

No major impacts are anticipated, but we will monitor water levels. There are no plans for shutdowns or evacuations in the Port Fourchon area.

Port Fourchon businesses and coastal residents should be alert, but not alarmed, and monitor communications for updates and warnings.
