Upcoming Highway Closures
Highways Affected: Hwy 3235 in Larose near LA 24,
and LA 1 south of Golden Meadow
Event Date: Tuesday, March 10, 2026
UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURES: On Tuesday, March 10, the South Lafourche Levee District will conduct a road barrier closure exercise, which will cause temporary road closures on LA 1 and LA 3235.
9:00 am: Northbound lanes of LA 3235 will detour to one of the southbound lanes at West 11th Street for approximately 1.5 hours.
11:00 am: LA 1 in Golden Meadow will be CLOSED at the Leon Theriot Lock Structure for approximately 30 mins.
The purpose of these exercises is to ensure the structures are fully operational ahead of Hurricane Season, which begins on June 1.
