Register for ‘Procuring for Disaster in Louisiana hosted by the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, NIMSAT Institute & Louisiana Emergency Preparedness Association.

This course offers a guide to complying with both federal procurement regulations and Louisiana procurement laws when preparing for, responding to, and recovering from a disaster or emergency. Participants will receive foundational and practical knowledge in the following subjects and topics:

  • Establishing/updating procurement policies
  • Determining appropriate procurement methods
  • Drafting contracts
  • Identifying potential procurement exceptions and understanding their requirements
  • Conducting a cost analysis
  • Avoiding common procurement mistakes

By the end of the course, participants will have a well-rounded skill set in procurement processes and facilitating continuous improvement to build community efficiency and resiliency.
