Tropical Depression Two Coordination Call – Monday 7/20

Tropical Depression Two has formed in the northeastern Gulf of America and is expected to move slowly near or along the northern Gulf Coast during the next several days. Although the forecast remains uncertain, Louisiana businesses and organizations should maintain situational awareness and continue monitoring official updates.

Potential impacts may include heavy rainfall, localized flash flooding, gusty winds, hazardous coastal conditions, and disruptions to transportation, utilities, supply chains, and normal business operations. Forecast conditions and anticipated impacts may change as the system develops.

The LABEOC will host a tropical weather coordination call tomorrow, Monday, July 20, at 2:00 p.m. Central Time. Scheduling the call for the afternoon will allow us to incorporate the latest National Weather Service and GOHSEP briefings before providing an update to the network.

The call will include:

• The latest forecast and anticipated timing

• Current state and local response posture

• Potential impacts to businesses and critical infrastructure

• Information sharing and damage reporting procedures

• Partner concerns, anticipated needs, and operational challenges

A calendar invite is at the bottom of this message.

At this time, the LABEOC remains in a monitoring and readiness posture.  Continue to follow official information from the National Hurricane Center, your local National Weather Service office, GOHSEP, and local emergency management officials.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Louisiana’s business community.
