The Governor of the State of Louisiana has declared that there is an emergency situation regarding the citizens of our state who are unhoused. The Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) has established a shelter for the unhoused, and this facility is taking care of the immediate of these vulnerable citizens. There is a need for clothing and other hygiene items for these citizens. Additionally, if there are groups or individuals that can assist with the grooming needs (specifically haircuts or barber services) of these fellow citizens, it would be greatly appreciated. Any organization or individual that feels called to support these citizens, please contact Sandra Dugas at Sandra.dugas@la.gov
